Gambits Edge ("we", "us") is built by Box of Otters. This policy explains what we collect when you use the Gambits Edge mobile and web app and how we use it.
What we collect
- Account info — email address when you sign up.
- Usage — board scans, puzzles solved, settings, and entitlement state, used to power your features and quota.
- Board images — scans are processed on your device to detect the position. If on-device recognition is uncertain, the image may be sent to our cloud vision service to complete the scan. We do not retain the images after the position is returned.
- Subscription state — provided by RevenueCat (App Store / Google Play). We do not see or store your payment details.
- Advertising identifiers — when ads are shown, Google AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android), IP address, and basic device information to serve and measure ads.
- Analytics & attribution — to measure installs and improve the app, we and our partners (AppsFlyer, Meta, TikTok, and Google Analytics) collect app and website usage events and device identifiers, including advertising identifiers where permitted. On our website we use the Meta, TikTok, and Google Analytics pixels.
How we use it
- To run the app — coaching, scanning, syncing your history across devices.
- To enforce the free-tier scan quota and unlock Pro features.
- To improve accuracy of trap and pattern detection in aggregate.
- To display advertising to free-tier users via Google AdMob.
We do not sell your personal data.
Advertising
Free-tier users see ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your advertising identifier and device information to serve personalized or non-personalized ads and to measure ad performance. On iOS, you can control tracking via Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or reset your advertising identifier at any time. You can learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
We also work with AppsFlyer, Meta, TikTok, and Google to measure app installs and the performance of our marketing. These partners may use device identifiers and usage data for attribution and ad measurement. On iOS this is subject to your App Tracking Transparency choice, which you can change anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Pro subscribers do not see ads.

Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, or full account deletion, by emailing gambitsedge@boxofotters.com. We honor deletion requests within 30 days.
Children
Gambits Edge is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
